A Diagnosis Isn’t a Death Sentence: My PMDD Journey

For a long time I hold on to this feeling as if speaking my truth would make me less adequate less desirable and less of authority in my field. In January 2020 after being officially diagnosed with PMDD I made a choice that would change my life forever.

The Mom Space Affirmations

It’s Not Always Rainbows and Unicorns

If you’re a mom, you know it’s not always rainbows and unicorns, but I wouldn’t trade this crazy mom journey for the world! If you are suffering from depression, please know you are not alone. There are resources and people available to help.

Autumn’s Transparent Struggle with PPD

My moods can leave me distant from my husband and out of touch with my children and every day I have to make the conscious choice to not let my fears, my worries, my demons get ahead of me.

When I Realized that I am Not my Mom!

“Emergency c-section,” my doctor told me. I went completely numb. I couldn’t hear anyone. I didn’t look at anyone. Tears were just coming down. As numerous doctors and nurses were coming in, they kept asking me questions, informing me what was going to happen. But if I am being completely honest; I really didn’t hear anything they said.

Kelly’s Story of Postpartum Depression

I’ve finally sat down to write this.  It’s not that it’s hard for me to talk about, or that I don’t want anyone to know, it’s just personal. PPD is the reason I got into blogging.  I needed an outlet, something to occupy my mind. I needed a way to find out that I wasn’t alone. Thus my first blog, The NO Drama Mama, was born. Kind of an ironic title, clearly I was experiencing drama, but whatever.

MoM Space Community

What is motherhood without the support of other moms? The MoM Space is about creating a community of mothers who can lean on one another for support.

In my efforts to empower women to live intentionally from the inside out, I want all moms entering the mom space to know

it’s okay to put yourself first

It’s ok to seek help

It’s okay to say you are NOT okay

Be rooted in the mantra that you are doing the best you can!

Mental Health Resources

In recent years the ability to discuss mental health transparently amongst women of color has been on the rise. But in some communities specifically, communities of color access to information and resources can be hard to find.

In the last 10 years of my life, I have been diagnosed with clinical depression, PTSD, PPD, and generalized anxiety & panic disorder and have lived with these labels as part of who I am. My goal is to provide women and mothers a space to feel comfortable to share their stories openly and to feel like they are being empowered in their process. This page serves as a resource guide for you to find tips, books, phone numbers, and people to help you at whatever stage or season you are in.
