As I watch my children grow older I have witnessed their creativity and imagination flourish and grow day after day. In our home you can always find some kind of art or made up world world built using all various kinds of materials. Right now our apartment is home to a Lego City, rubber band wall, and drawings of toy characters everywhere. It brings me joy to see such creative imagination and magic still within my two growing kids.
With technology at the forefront of so much of our lives as millennial parents we like to keep a good harmony when intertwining the two. We’ve been able to find really great options that keep creativity, science, play and imagination in mind in their mission/design. This mini gift guide highlights a few our favorites this holiday season for any child or child at heart with creative imaginations.
Pai Technology – Botzees
Botzees has become apart of our family this fall, this little robot can be built and coded for hours of fun. My children have loved letting their botzee robot push small items around the house and play games in the app.
The great thing about this toy is that there are lots of different robot forms the botzee can take. This allows the player to play different games based on the robot and my kids love the setting where they can control all of his movements and can move him around the house doing various tasks.
The Invisibility Cloak
As a die hard Harry Potter fan I just had to have this cloak for my family! Can you imagine being invisible? The Invisibility cloak costume perfectly replicate the original cloak’s magical effects and turns the wearer invisible! Vanish from view with this amazing Harry Potter toy and collector item.
Magic and Harry Potter are statements of my childhood that I am happy to share with my children, grab this cloak and have fun with the whole family.
Magna Tiles
Build anything that’s on your mind using magna tiles! This has been the longest standing toy in my home, we’ve had a set of 50 magna tiles since 2016. This year we’re grabbing 100 Magna tiles to add to our collection, this toy encourages shape recognition for the little ones and encourages creative thinking, fusing math, science and creativity in one.
Legos
Grab a set of legos at pretty much any of your major retailer! I mean what kid doesn’t love legos, my children have been obsessed with the lego world this year more than any. As my son has gotten older, he’s been able to build the harder sets which admittley can be ALOT all over the house, but I love to see them build their own towns and house tiny lego people..
Osmo
Osmo is a magical game that interact with actual hand held pieces & an ipad, bringing a child’s game pieces & actions to life. One of the great things about the gift here is how it encourages those little mind to learn – Osmo merges tactile exploration with innovative technology, actively engaging children in the learning process.
Kano
Go on an epic journey of discovery and learn to code along the way. Kano lets kids create adventures, express their imagination and share them with the Kano World community. This Frozen kit is comprehensive, fun and filled with magic, another great gift for lovers of STEM and creativity fused together.
