Guilt Free Screen Time w/ Davinci Club AR

Thank you Davinci Club AR for sponsoring this post!

We are in the 21st century and raising children in this digital age means it’s extremely difficult to have a screen-free home at times. My children have been using screened devices (T.V, iPads, Tablets) since the age of 2 years old and making sure they have access to apps that keep them active has been a big push for me. Guilt-free screen time these days is easy to achieve with the various types of contents and apps available for children.

When my children prepare themselves to get a new game from the app store, it has to check off at least one of these things on my list of “guilt-free” meaning they can play it as much as they want. Apps considered guilt-free would be anything educational, movement based, book/reading apps or school-based applications. We then set parameters around how much “guilty” screen time they can have around the apps that don’t check off the list. Keeping your kids active while using devices isn’t as hard when you have some knowledge about what’s available and on the market.

I have pulled together my top 3 apps that keep kids active and allow you to give them more guilt-free screen time. At the end of this post, you can also receive a free 2-week trial to our newest favorite app on this list.

All apps listed are available in the iTunes store.

3 Apps to Keep Your Kids Active During ScreenTime

Davinci Club Ar

In this app, children get to explore the world around them with friends. Children get to create their own pets to customize with fun colors, clothes and features and give them a fun/funky name.

The game feeds children’s curiosity and lets them explore the real world with their friends or siblings. Kids can get moving and stay active by using the camera within the game to scan everyday items to unlock cards and collect cool things.

The goal of the game is to unlock all the animals and compare to win against your family and friends. This app makes the list as it encourages your child’s active movement without being solely glued to the screen. Have your kids go on a quick scavenger hunt with the app and spend hours, competing to collect cards and new levels.

We received a 1-year subscription to this game which was certified by the Finland education system, this game encourages education throughout, allowing children to learn more by moving, exploring and understanding the world around them.

Taco Dance

In this app, kids can create different dancers, stages and dance moves with the characters. Children can enjoy some guilt-free screen time by using their imagination and creativity to choreograph the dance and then Once created, see if you can copy the same moves.

Go Noodle

This is an app that’s perfect for the entire family to play.

This app allows kids to choose movement videos and games to play with engaging hosts and characters.

Kids can even learn the art of mindfulness by using this app to practice yoga and deep breathing.

One of the coolest things about this app is its availability on all Apple devices including the tv. This means you can easily turn t.v time into movement and learning time as well.

Final Thoughts

When you’re allowing your kids screentime, do you always make sure to include apps that take your children on an adventure or journey?

While I am not a stickler for all that they can do online, I mean Youtube videos and other games are just as fun for them. But as a mom, I sometimes have a little guilt when those applications become to much.

So having guilt-free screen time by incorporating games that encourage movement, education, and play is always the best kind of balance in my book
